Bible Illustrations and Dog Portrait

This week, I’d like to introduce you to some friends of mine from the animal kingdom…

Lamb (web)

Meet Lamb. She’s here to tell you a Bible story.

Lamb is one of two illustrations for Jotham McCauley’s new series, The Bible Rhymes. The second illustration, Bread and Fish, is below. “Fish” is rainbow colored because the series is kid-friendly and plain dead fish have a tendency to look….scary.

Bread and Fish (web)

I can’t brag about this series enough. Jotham McCauley is a WORD WHIZ and I’m so proud of him. On his own initiative, he’s taking the books of the Bible and putting them all to rhyme…All 66 of them. That’s a lot! So far he has Acts, James, Jude, and 1st and 2nd Peter. Every line is written in “kid language” and cites its corresponding scripture. No small feat and totally amazing. Congrats Jotham! I can’t wait to see published product.

Pepper

And for fun, welcome to my own little family. 🙂

I wanted to try out a new painting technique for my watercolor dog portraits using sharp and loose edges. Her name is Pepper and she’s ours. She’s cute, lovable, fun and hyper. Her ears really are that tall. She has this remarkable ability to turn them around all the way and use them like sonars on a bat. It’s amazing.  My husband likes the finished product so much we’re hanging it up in the house. Yay! <3

If you have a pet portrait you would like to commission send me an email! I’d love to work with you! Have a great weekend everyone!
