Bridge: In Progress
It’s been over two weeks since my last post so it’s high time to dispel any rumors that my little studio is gathering dust and type out everything that’s been going on lately.
I’m currently working on a painting for the gallery show in September. It’s approximately 15″ by 24,” and will be my biggest and most ambitious project yet. It has more depth in it. And it has WATER (can someone say “summertime”?)! Get excited! This piece has butterflies, flowers, rope swings, boats, and, of course, little dinosaur floaties. 🙂
Above is a family scene with a boy floating down the stream with his little brother in tow (gotta keep the family together).
And another family scene of a mother taking her little ducklings out to the stream for the very first time (again, gotta keep the family together).
The painting is somewhere around 60-70% complete. Below is a shot of the entire piece.
But that’s not all. I got that illustration job I posted about a few weeks ago. Yay! So after the “Bridge” is finished I will have the wonderful opportunity to work with Georgia Regents University on their children’s literature project.
Also, I was accepted into the YOUnite Tour: Global Art Movement in Nashville! The opening reception is this Saturday June 1, 2013 at the Viridian and runs through July 6, 2013.
