A Mother’s Day Gift – Watercolor Dog Portrait of Treasure

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

This week’s project is a special Mother’s Day gift my siblings and I have been scheming the past few months.

It all started with a phone call. Mom had just finished telling me a story about her dog, Treasure, chasing after a squirrel and how it made her laugh. After the call, I had an idea. This year, for Mother’s Day, I’d paint a portrait of Treasure! Treasure meant the world to her and it was totally unique – just like Mom. 🙂

My siblings hopped right on board with this idea and facilitated an oh-so-casual Treasure photo-op. Later, they sent me the photos to where I live six hours away and the portrait began in earnest. Below is the finished project with a candid photo of the two “besties.” Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! 🙂
